A revitalized the Russian player won his first title for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his first championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on court had caused observers to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour championship, took control to create a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early break points in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
