Automobiles in Germany's City Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities stated they were notified by a man who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers say they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then discovered numerous other marked cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report early analysis show the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.

A high-ranking political figure said the attack left him without words and had to be solved quickly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the death of nine victims by a gunman targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
